Background / General description:
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of SFD is the core
unit responsible for institutional risk oversight, including establishment and
monitoring adherence to risk policies and guidelines and risk assessment and
reporting to the Managing Director (MD). 
The CRO has three units, namely, (Credit Risk, and Counterparty), Market
 and Operational Risk.
The Credit Risk units (CR) focuses on ensuring
that the SFD credit risk exposure is commensurate with the risk appetite of
stakeholders and strikes the appropriate balance between financial and
development objectives. 
The Market Risk (MR)  focuses on oversight of risk in two areas:
I. Market Risk, which covers ALM, interest
rate, spread (funding and investments) and FX risk, and the availability/cost
of or access to ready liquidity and long-term funding, and
II hedging the SFD portfolios .
The Operational Risk Department (ORM) key
responsibilities which include  (i)
oversight of operational risks across the SFD including regular monitoring and
reporting of risks (ii) implementation of an operational risk methodology to
support reporting of operational risks (iii) coordination and communication
with business units to ensure identification and prioritization of operational
risks and events (iv) assisting the SFD in managing key risks in collaboration
with business partners (v) maintaining a governance risk and compliance tool to
facilitate data collection and reporting (vi) providing training on operational
risks to business functions across the SFD. 

Duties and Accountabilities:
The role of the risk officer will focus on
supporting clients with risk  management reporting
and enhancing the risk management capabilities of the Department. Specifically
the risk officer is expected to work closely with SFD units including IT to
help:

Implementing risk management framework for SFD
·        
Set up strategic risk management 
framework for SFD
·        
Facilitate regular reporting of risks through key risk indicators and
events
·        
Analyzing and evaluating data received from business functions
•       
Analyzing and evaluating data on CR, MR & ORM risks
•       
Identifying potential emerging risks and assessing potential impact for
the SFD
•       
Revaluating risk assessments periodically to reflect changing risk
profiles and identifying common themes across the SFD where RM should help
manage the risk

Implement corporate governance and compliance .
•       
Supporting the development of scenarios and appropriate risk response
strategies.
