1. Supervise the finance team on a day to day basis ensuring that work is prioritised to meet deadlines. Coordinate workload for the team, ensure viable staff cover of the department and provide support and training as appropriate.
2. Supervises the daily operations of the Finance Department
3. Reconciles account balances and prepares schedules for independent auditors in their performance of annual audit; answers questions; locates materials; explains procedures and policies as requested
4. To assist the Head of Finance in the overall management of the Strategic Finance Service.
5. To deputies for the Head of Finance when required.
6. To be the initial point of contact for liaison with the Authority’s External Auditors.
7. To assist the Head of Finance in the development of service, departmental and corporate plans.
8. Performs related duties as required.
