The position of Translation Quality Manager requires super quality standards wherein applicable for translation, revision, proofreading, editing, QCing or QMing of bilingual text.
Ability to provide feedback based on linguistic analysis and supported with reason for writing/editing styles is a key priority as well.
Linguists who are well-versed with different fields of translation will be highly recommended.
Job Description includes:
- Proofread/edit all translated documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling errors and style enhancement to make sure final copy can stand alone as an original document into a second language.
- Format all translated documents to mirror the original source document
- Give feedback to translators and reviewers and provide quality assessment reports.
- Suggest subjective changes regarding style of writing, tonality and contextual composition of translated documents.
- Utilize reference materials to maintain consistency across projects for each client and within each project.
- Create glossaries for individual clients to support terminology consistency.
- Operate CAT tools to improve efficiency and high productivity of teamwork.
- Efficiently maintains formal disciplined operations procedures across a variety of client projects.
- Track project-specific non-conformances and resolutions
- Assist with making new department processes while improving on existing ones (improve man-hour productivity and daily throughput)
- Maintain strong relationships with full-time and freelance translators, editors, and proofreaders.
- Investigate client complaints regarding translations - holding both freelance and full-time employees accountable.
- Be responsible for any errors/omissions associated with their translation projects
- Track and report on KPIs and Quality Standards.
- Juggle overlapping projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Perform other special projects or duties when required
