Install, configure and fine-tune the OS and Application monitoring system server/agents on all components and interface with the Operating System, Middleware, Application and Database Administration teams to collect the required data and work closely with them to configure the monitoring system.
Participate in regular staff meetings and communicate relevant information.
Responsible for vendor communication (both verbal and electronic) including scheduling, updating of status and communicating completion of service requests and incidents
Develop the design(s), testing plans, monitoring/alerting and procedures based upon system recommendations. Acts as an escalation point for any technical issues regarding monitoring that require advanced skills.
Participates in disaster recovery and business continuity tests by monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues that may be encountered within the performance monitoring system.
Perform periodic procedures as documented to ensure reliable operations of the monitoring system.
Generate and distribute reports to management and leads.
