- The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management responsibility for the project.
- The Project Manager acts as entrepreneur in the name of the Company. Under this aspect he represents the key role for outer appearance, attitude, reliability, capability, commitment and perseverance thus gives an outstanding example for all team members.
- He is the Management’s Representative of the Company and at least responsible for the functions and tasks described hereinafter.
- Implement project strategy, coordinate and approve super ordinate engineering changes.
- Manage and monitor the work related to Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-commissioning/Commissioning at optimal cost while maintaining highest HSE and quality objectives.
- Direct and manage the Project from inception thru to FEED, Engineering Design (BE & DE), Procurement and Construction phases.
- Analyze the contract and explain the contractual aims within the project organization. Define contractual aims more closely so that every team member is without any doubt in a position to fulfill the tasks demanded.
- Guide, direct, coach and develop team members to perform to their best potential with special focus to the development of Locals providing opportunities for leadership development.
- Provide effective supervision through all project phases for timely commissioning and turnover.
- Manage and monitor the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, pre commissioning /commissioning at optimal cost while maintaining HSE and quality objectives.
- Synchronize the project deliverables with the overall strategy for the Project enabling objectives to be achieved.
- Conclude technical issues with Engineering Consultants & EPC Contractor in line with the project objectives.
- Insure the formation of integrated team and associated resources and supervise the activities to ensure achieving project deliverables.
- Issue the project scope of works for relevant ITB documents and evaluate bids.
- Direct and supervise the implemnetation of the project including verification of bidders list, preparation of ITB documents consisting of terms of reference, scope of works, special terms and conditions, payment terms and project master schedule (PMS).
- Identify critical issues and area of concerns that may affect the project performance targets and provide effective solutions.
- Perform Hold Point Checks (determine measures to be taken against risks, HSE requirements and savings potential) and Design and HSE Reviews and check and release important documents for the next project phase (phase achievement).
- Initiate and approve the contracting plan with serviceable cost structure
- Specify important dates in an outline schedule and priorities to be worked on until the detailed overall schedule is presented. Approve the detailed schedules and incorporate them into the overall schedule.
- Divide the contract into sub-packages and internal task orders with target specifications (eng. hours, budget, schedules).
- QHSE system to be implemented in the project - compile QHSE Plan, monitoring progress discussions with the explanation of QHSE matters at least on a monthly basis.
- Initiate and administer contractual changes and effect additional orders with the customer. Pass on order and budget changes to the departments concerned in a comprehensible form.
- Monitor external deadlines and perform accompanying cost control including cost projection.
- Compile project reports and final project report. Prepare and initiate improvements and decisions for alternative technical concepts.
- Regular review, monitoring of progress and reporting the same to the Head of Projects.
