- The purpose of the role is the management of all Contractors and Vendors, deliveries, operatives, and coordination therein to ensure projects are delivered within time to the required standards and safely and agreed time and cost limits.
- The Contracts and Coordination Manager shall manage and support the Team in the delivery of the projects on time, to budget, whilst maintaining the zero harm philosophy, within the guidelines of legal, corporate and operating company directives.
- Capable of taking full responsibility for the profitable control and management of large multi-disciplined contracts.
- Ensure that the overall responsibility for the operational and financial success of the contracts are discharges through the project execution team
- Work in conjunction with the regional commercial manager to ensure that costs are controlled at all levels and on all fronts, ensuring that we maintain a positive cash flow and good utilisation of divisional working capital Recognise and maintain best practice per the group minimum commercial expectations.
- Be the company's senior representative for any given contract and have all authority to make decisions on behalf of the company and accept responsibility for all matters affecting the contract
- Overall responsible for the administration, control, programming, re-programming and progress of the projects carried out by their team in line with contract
- Ensure that company's contractual position is preserved at all times but to use the resources at their disposal to complete the contract on time and to the client's satisfaction
- Ensure the correct operation of the company systems and reporting procedure to minimise risk including, in particular ensuring that the business process manual (BPM) is adhered to and that the SHE, contract management and planning & control sections are strictly observed
- Ensure that labour is used effectively and in a way that maximises the productivity of the business, correcting unproductive activities.
- Protect and enhance the reputation and image of the company, embed and actively highlight our values and sustainability messages.
- Responsible for safety and for the implementation of all company safety, health and welfare measures set out in the company documents.
- Assist in the recruitment, development and training of projects staff with the support, guidance and direction of the regional director and human resources business partner (HRBP).
- Assist in tendering and business development activities to grow the business in line with medium term plans (MTPs).
- Elaboration of a Claim Strategy during tender phase and start up of the project.
- Review all monthly cost forecasts in conjunction with other sources of information, ie planning, PSCM, change management, risk and trend registers
- Ensure sign off for monthly Contractor Value Of Work Done & Valuation submissions.
- Review reconciliation of actual costs between Finance Ledger and the BP Cost Database. Investigate aged accruals and ensure clear lines of communication with Finance Dept.
- Manage the preparation and submission of departments monthly cost report pack.
- Monitor drawdown of budget lines to ensure commitments and actual costs are correctly allocated and advise management of anomalies.
- Attends internal/ external management meetings in support of cost information.
- Analysis of Contractors monthly reports to facilitate cost forecasting and provide BP overview.
- Provide support for internal / external audits.
- Monitor Contractor Key Performance IndicatorsDescription of Functions.
- Review of the Contractual procedure for Changes with respect to completeness and operability.
- Review of the contract for claim opportunities, risks and strategies.
