Under the general guidance and supervision
of the Director of Rooms Division or delegate and within the established IHG
policies and procedures, responsible for all activities of the Recreation
department such as, but not limited to direct all aspects of Pool and Health
Club Operations which include pool area, gym recreational activities within the
club. To promote and maintain cordial relationships with guests and members to
achieve high guest satisfaction. To develop and implement new projects within
the club. To develop and implement new projects within the club.

Duties and Responsibilities
 
FINANCIAL RETURNS
·    
Promotes
hotel facilities whenever possible.
·    
Participate
in the preparation of the hotels strategic plan and goals programme. Prepare
the departmental budget.
·    
control
and analyse departmental costs to measure performance against budget and goals.
·    
Maintain and
control inventories for operating equipment, linen, pro shop merchandise,
ensuring par stocks and costs are properly controlled.
·    
Organize
special projects, promotional events in conjunction with other departments and
sponsors.
PEOPLE
·    
Supervises
pool attendants, health club attendants and staff to ensure maximum guest
satisfaction.
·    
Performs
related duties and special projects as assigned.
·    
Co-operates
fully with the human resources and training in matters relating to the staff
and social club.
·    
Conduct
performance appraisal, counselling and disciplinary control of pool and health
club staff.
·    
Prepare rotas
and schedules to maintain approved staffing and productivity levels.
·    
Identify
training needs of staff, develop training plans and implement training
sessions.
·    
Establish
and maintain effective employees’ relations.
·    
Conduct regular
departmental meeting to ensure proper flow of information and ideas.
·    
Maintain
good communications with the supervisors, department heads on all matters
pertaining to the pool and health club.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
·    
Coordinate
and control all leisure activities related to the pool and health club.
·    
Supervise
and check cleanliness of club area including locker rooms, toilets and water
treatment of pool.
·    
Ensure
staff standards of dress, hygiene, appearance, behaviour and guest courtesy are
adhered.
·    
Maintain
good communications with guests and members on club activities and general
hotel information.
·    
In conjunction
with the marketing communications department conduct market research within the
pool & health club membership to keep abreast with needs and desires of the
member with respect to changing trends in the recreation area.
·    
Maintain
good order within the club and ensure rules and regulations are adhered to by
members.
 
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
·    
Complies
with hotels’ health, safety & hygiene policy.
·    
Conduct inspections
of areas within your responsibility to ensure facilities and equipment are kept
in good, safe condition and take corrective action where necessary.
 
 
 
aCCOUNTABILITY
 
Maintain good relations with other
facilities managers in the area to better monitor the competition and
coordinate closely with the food & beverages manager with regard to F&B
service in his area.
 
Coordinate closely with the chief engineer
with regard to maintenance of the club and gardens, provide supervision and
direction of staff which include the professionals and cooperate with other
department heads as required.
 This
job requires the ability to lift/push items weighing up to 100 pounds. 
You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
